FIPS

Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are U.S. government standards for cryptography. Chainguard’s FIPS images use FIPS-validated cryptographic modules, so you can run them in environments that require FIPS validation, such as U.S. federal systems, organizations that work with U.S. agencies, and regulated industries.

To learn what FIPS covers, who needs it, and how validation works, read What is FIPS? in Supply Chain Security 101. To get started with Chainguard’s FIPS images, read Getting started with FIPS containers. The pages in this section cover how Chainguard’s FIPS images work and how to verify them.

For Chainguard’s warranties and certifications, see the FIPS commitment.
